South African Rooibos

Rooibos, or Aspalathus Lineanis, is a native South African bush that is grown in the Cedarberg area near Cape Town in South Africa. Locals of South Africa have been harvesting rooibos as a health beverage for centuries and in addition to containing no caffeine, it actually provides for a lot of essential nutrients that could benefit good health and overall well-being.

Rooibos has a slightly “tea-like” taste and could be enjoyed plain, with milk and sugar, or honey. It makes a nice iced beverage as well.

Summarized, it is a drink that:

  • Supplements your body’s need for SOD (super oxide dismutase), thus providing a natural antioxidant to protect your body against free radical damage.
  • Relieves allergies.
  • Is caffeine free.
  • Is rich in essential minerals for good health and vitality.
  • Contains anti-spasmodic properties that relieve digestive distress in adults as well as colic in infants.

All in all, a refreshing day drink and a relaxing bed-side beverage in one!
